Hi! My name is Asif Shahriar. I am currently working as a Lecturer in the CSE department of BRAC University. I completed my B.Sc. (with Honours) in CSE from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2024.

My research sits at the intersection of security and AI. I work on applying foundation models to security analysis tasks, such as automated vulnerability detection and protocol analysis. I also study the behavioral security of LLMs and LLM agents, with particular emphasis on failure modes that emerge from an agent’s interaction history and framing rather than explicit malicious input. Outside of security, I enjoy working on core model architectures for task-specific goals, and investigating the trustworthiness of foundation models. My research has been published in IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (TIFS) and EMNLP 2025.

I have also served as a peer reviewer for EMNLP 2026, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics and Cybersecurity (Springer).

I am grateful to all the mentors and supervisors who have guided and supported me throughout my academic and research journey. I believe in “persistence until improvement”, even if it requires going the extra mile – and hope my students would, too.
